The temperature has finally dropped below 80 degrees, so it’s time for fall clothing. I am an autumn girl. Always have been. I love spooky season, the changing weather, heartier food, football. Fall is where I thrive. I also love that I am no longer a sweaty mess as soon as I walk out the door. Cooler temperatures mean long sleeves, boots, sweaters, and jewel tones. I’ve rounded up my 2023 fall fashion must haves, and I am going to walk you through the picks.

2023 Fall Fashion Must Haves

I talk about personal style alot. Once you’ve defined your personal style you no longer feel the need to hop onto every trend. Building a wardrobe allows you to to add pieces as needed without buying all new clothes every year. With that in mind, I’ve rounded up several items I think everyone should have in their closet for fall. All plus-size friendly, mostly reasonably priced.

Ankle Boots

Ankle boots are a must have for fall. They work with every type of outfit and height. The pair I’m recommending are suede, and I went with the neutral shade. Versatility is the key here.

Joggers

I admit I was late to the joggers train. However I am firmly on board these days and I keep them in rotation. I stumbled across this style when I was looking for a travel outfit for my last trip. Extra high waisted for my fellow long torso girlies, and they come in a variety of colors. Perfect for a cozy weekend or a casual day out.

Henley

I love henleys. These just scream fall in my opinion. The millennial pink adds a feminine touch, and these are versatile enough to be dressed up or down.

Crew Neck Sweatshirt

Sweatshirts are must for fall. I love this style and color scheme. Sweatshirts are perfect for those in between days, when it isn’t cold enough for a jacket but not hot enough for just a t-shirt. I love a graphic sweatshirt or something with a unique logo.

Striped Sweater

I’ve had a love affair with anything striped for as long as I can remember. So a striped sweater is right up my alley. Classic and preppy, this is the perfect sweater for cooler temps.

Satin Shirt

I don’t own much satin, but something about this satin shirt just says “grown up” to me. The jewel tones are perfect for fall, and it will add a layer of sophistication to any outfit.

Knit Top

One of my style characteristics is feminine. The details on the sleeves of this top are perfect. They add a subtle touch to a simple outfit. This knit top is perfect for a work outfit, or a casual gathering.

Loafers

One of the perils of adulthood is finding the right shoes. I’m at the age where a good every day shoe is a battle. Tennis shoes are too casual, ballet flats are too flimsy. It’s too cold for sandals. This is where loafers come in. I admit when I think of loafers the first thing that comes to mind are college professors and elderly people. However, we’ve come along way, and there are some brands making stylish comfortable loafers for all ages. These come in a variety of colors to fit all your needs.

These are my 2023 fall fashion must haves. Like I said I don’t expect you to run out and buy a whole new wardrobe every year. It’s expensive and bad for the environment. What I do expect is for you to find pieces here that work with your wardrobe, that you will be excited to wear over and over again.
