I always wanted the perfect white dress for summer. If a little black dress should be a staple in every woman’s wardrobe, then a little white dress should be a summer staple. I don’t really subscribe to the whole no white after Labor Day thing. I live in the south and it doesn’t really start to cool off until the end of September. A white dress is cute, classic, and perfect for warm weather. I decided to share a few casual plus size white dresses.

Casual Plus Size White Dresses

One of the reasons I started my blog is because I didn’t see enough people that looked like me on social media or in the blogs I read. I also get tired of seeing boring fatphobic styling advice for plus-size women. Don’t wear this, stripes are bad, no bold colors etc. If you listen to the advice you’re either going to be dressed like a monk or naked.

Styling a White Dress

White dresses incorporate all 3 of my style characteristics, classic, feminine, and preppy. White is a classic color, the smocked detail of the dress adds a feminine touch, and the colors are preppy and give coastal New England. White also looks great on my skin, the contract in the color and my skin tone makes it pop. One of the things I like most about this dress that you can wear a regular bra with it. No need for special undergarments.

Accessories

Keeping with the classic thing, I paired this with a white pearl headband, and small white studs. I wore tan sandals. One fashion mistake people make often is overthinking it. This look is simple to put together, and can be dressed up or down.

Day to Night Wear

If you want to take this look from day to night, I would swap the sandals for espadrilles or a block heel. A dangly earring or hoop is perfect a night out, or keep the studs if you want to keep it simple. Take advantage of this warm weather and a take a little white dress out for a spin!
