Hi Friends! Let’s do a little catch-up shall we? It’s been a minute. Not going to drag out the big news.. I MOVED!

I’ve been fully moved in for a little over a week now, and it still hasn’t quite sunk in yet. I say that because I lived in the same apartment for 10 years, so this is a big change. I had been looking at apartments for awhile, and wanted to make sure that I found a great fit. I also took some time to work on my credit, so approval wouldn’t be an issue. I had wanted to move for awhile now. I had outgrown my space, it didn’t feel like me anymore. I have tons of memories tied to that apartment, for no other reason that I lived there for so long. I was a couple of weeks shy of my 22nd birthday when I moved in.

IT WAS TIME FOR A CHANGE

A lot of things can happen in 10 years, and I am no exception to that rule. I had knee surgery when I was in that apartment, became an aunt, and survived a pandemic. I also started this blog there. I was ready to close that chapter so I seriously started looking a few months ago. I knew as soon as I walked into this apartment it was the one. You know how the wand chooses the wizard? Well, when I walked in to this apartment, it felt like me. I knew it was the one.

GROWING PAINS, MOVING PAINS

The actual moving part has been a complete clusterf*ck nightmare, where everything that could have gone wrong did. One bad thing about living in one place for so long is you forget how much a pain in the ass moving is. I had to switch units, none of my furniture got delivered where it was supposed to, the old furniture didn’t get removed when it was supposed to etc. The list is long and by the end of the month I was over it. I had also decided not to announce my move until after it was done so that was another layer.

GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT

I’m old enough to remember when everyone was scared of the internet and putting all of your info on there. That aside, I decided to leave some things to mystery. I didn’t tell the internet I was moving or most people in my life until after it was done. Everybody has an opinion about everything and honestly I have enough noise in my mind and didn’t want to add to it. I figured I would just let everyone enjoy the new space once I was ready to share. I also understand that everybody can’t be happy for you, and not everyone wants to see you win.

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART STUFF IS

Not gonna lie, it’s taking some getting used to being in a new space. I keep having this feeling that I’m going to go back home, but this is home. My new apartment is alot bigger, and I decided to toss all my old furniture and start fresh. The list of things to buy is never ending, and decorating has been an adventure. . I’ve lost count of how many packages I’ve brought in the last couple of weeks. I have a vision of what I want this space to be and I can’t wait till I have it like I want it.

So that’s where I’ve been. Moving, doing manual labor, buying furniture, and trying not to lose my shit. I’ll be sharing snippets of the behind the scenes on IG, and will do a reveal here once it’s fully decorated. Thankful for this new chapter, and everyone that’s along for it!
