This 2-Ingredient Hot Chocolate is the perfect sip for those chilly winter nights. Easy, delicious, and will become your go-to winter drink once the temperature drops. Something about cold weather always makes me want something warm and satisfying to drink. That’s where hot chocolate comes in. I love coffee as much as the next person, but I don’t always want the caffeine especially at night.
So how did I narrow down making hot chocolate to 2 ingredients? Easy, Nutella and milk. Many moons ago when I was knee deep into beauty Youtube, one of my favorite vloggers posted a version of this. I had never seen anyone make hot chocolate like this before. It seemed alot easier than trying to gather a bunch of pantry ingredients and tastier than packaged mix. Here’s how I make it.
In a small saucepan, add 2 cups of milk.
Add 2 heaping tablespoons of Nutella and whisk vigorously.
Stir hot chocolate mix until nutella is fully distributed and milk has come to a low simmer.
Turn off the heat and pour hot chocolate into a mug.
Top with whipped cream
There you have it, my 2-ingredient hot chocolate!
How To Serve
If you are like me and you always want to be extra, you have to top your hot chocolate with whipped cream. I also tend to sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on top for a little kick.
Variations
- Use any type of milk you want. I used whole milk (gasp!) but any plant based milk will work.
- If you want to spike your hot chocolate, substitute 1 tbsp of coffee liqueur for 1 tbsp of Nutella
- If spiking my go-to is Bailey’s Irish Cream or Kahlua
- For a spicy hot chocolate add a couple of pinches of cayenne powder to the hot chocolate and whisk in while it’s on the stove.
