For the Kids : Gift Guide

Got another gift guide for you. This one is for the babies. I’ve spent a good deal of time around kids over the years. Between babysitting and being an actual auntie now, I’ve gotten an idea of what kids like. Pick something up for the babies that have been working your nerves all quarantine.

  1. Qai Qai Doll – Confession: Babies are my favorite people to follow on IG. Qai Qai is the only doll, but as Olympia’s sidekick, she doesn’t disappoint. Now she’s available for all the kids to love.

2. Parlour Dough – Non-toxic, scented play-dog for the kids.

3. Ball Pit – I went to a one-year old’s birthday party at the beginning of the year. The parents had all sorts of stuff to occupy the kids, but the ball pit was the biggest hit. All of the kids, regardless of age loved it. I as a grown ass woman, was slightly jealous. If nothing else it will make you nostalgic for the days of the huge ball pit at Chuck-E-Cheese.

4. Baby Gym– My niece will be 4 months old at the end of December, and this is what I’m getting her for Christmas. She’s at the age where she’s able to play and engage, and I want something that will help with fine motor skills and sensory development.

5. Play Kitchen – I don’t know what it is about kitchens that turn kids into tiny chefs, but I have yet to meet one that didn’t enjoy them. This one is perfect for all age groups and gender neutral, because cooking is a life skill. Get ready for a front row seat at the best restaurant in your house with the meals your babies will cook up here.

6. Welcome to the Party– Kaavia James aka Shady Baby is my favorite kid not related to me. She is hilarious and adorable and her mom, Gabrielle Union wrote this book as a love letter to her. Pick this up to read to all the little ones in your life.

7. Puzzle Huddle puzzles– Small, black owned business that features images of kids of color. Lack of representation led the founder, a father of 3 to create this line. This is perfect for any child that likes to be challenged and wants to see themselves in the puzzles they put together.

8. Teepee– Teepees are cool, fun, hangout spots for little ones. It’s the perfect place for them to play, calm down, or maybe even nap. Not gonna lie, I they made this for adults I would probably buy one.

9. Pajamas – Kids are messy. Kids get cold. Kids tend to dirty their clothes quickly. This is why you can never have too many pajamas. These are gender neutral and ethically made. They also have adult sizes if you want to match with your kids!
